On April 26th, the Assistive Devices and Elderly Care Rehabilitation Exchanges of the Care & Rehabilitation Expo China 2019, which took its fourth station into Shaanxi, following its last three successful openings in Shandong, Henan and Taiwan, was successfully held at Boffo L Hotel in Xi’an.

Mr. Gao Guangwei, Deputy Inspector of Shaanxi Disabled Persons’ Federation, and Ms. Zhang Qiaojun, Secretary General of Shaanxi Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, respectively gave a welcoming speech. They introduced multi-level and diversified demands for assistive devices in China’s ageing society, and conveyed the high value given to the development of the rehabilitation and assistive devices by the Party Central Committee and the State Council

Mr. Lu Yong, Director of Shaanxi Assistive Technology Centre for Persons with Disabilities, delivered a keynote speech titled “Interpretation of Policy on Assistive Devices in Shaanxi”. Director Lu said that more than 300,000 people in Shaanxi were in need of assistive devices, and that in order to enhance the application of assistive devices in the work, employment and life of disabled persons, 40 million CNY would be spent on assistive devices this year.

Participants Fully Communicating on Hot Topics of Rehabilitation and Assistive Devices
Ms. Rui Hairong, Director of Elderly Nursing Home of Xi’an Federation of Trade Unions, made a keynote speech titled “Exploring the Integration of Elderly care, Medical Treatment, and Rehabilitation”. She introduced the connotation, current situation and development orientation of the combination of elderly care and medical treatment, as well as that of elderly care and rehabilitation. Director Rui pointed out that medical treatment was the difficulty, rehabilitation the keystone, and health management the critical point. Combinations of any two of them will form two powerful industrial divisions to achieve a 1+1>2 effect.

Mr. Ma Xing, Chief Physician of The First Affiliated Hospital to Xi’an Jiaotong University, gave a keynote speech on “Surgical Treatment and Rapid Rehabilitation of Geriatric Hip Fracture”, introducing the hazards, clinical features, and surgical and non-surgical methods for the treatment and rehabilitation of hip fracture.

Mr. Hu Xufeng, Chairman of Shaanxi Rongde Group, shared “Providing Comprehensive and Full-cycle Rehabilitation Services for the Elderly, the Disabled, and the Injured”, proposing that “Internet + Rehabilitation” technology should be adopted to establish rehabilitation files for all the elderly, the disabled and the injured to follow their rehabilitation process to provide full-cycle services for them.

Mr. Zhang Hongtao, Director of the Industry Promotion Office of China Assistive Devices and Technology Centre for Persons with Disabilities, delivered a final speech, in which he further emphasized the significant moves in the preparation for supporting conference activities for the CR Expo this year.

It is reported that during the exhibition, China Disabled Persons’ Federation will cooperate with organizations such as World Health Organization and Rehabilitation International to host the 2nd “The Belt and Road High-level Event on Disability Cooperation”, bringing together leaders from Working Committee on Persons with Disability of China’s State Council and its member organizations, and foreign delegates from departments of disability affairs in “The Belt and Road” relevant countries and ASEM members, to advance exchanges for the inclusive development of disabled persons in “The Belt and Road” relevant countries. The 3rd Global Conference on Assistive Devices and Technology and CR Expo 2019 will be held as significant concurrent activities to give full play to the communication platform to promote cooperation and the development of assistive devices.
Enthusiastic Communication in the Meeting Room
Care & Rehabilitation Expo China 2019 will be held at China National Convention Center in Beijing from October 10th to 12th. Covering as much as 25,000 m2, this Expo is expected to attract 350 well-known enterprises of rehabilitation, assistive devices and elderly care and health from all over the world to exhibit, and about 50,000 professional visitors to purchase.
